NOBLE GUITARS
Every element of Noble Guitars is crafted by hand, using only the very best timbers and a lattice braced system that I have been performing on for many years (derived from Stephen Hill's lattice method). It offers a strong, profound sound, ideal for the concert setting, with plenty of attack and clarity in the trebles, accompanied by a deep bass register. The guitars have a bell/piano-like quality to them, a very distinctive sound.
Throughout studies and career as a performer, I have always been obsessed with the tonal qualities of guitars, so much so that I used to change instruments frequently, working closely with Master Luthier Stephen Hill in a never-ending search for new sounds to coax from the instrument. Technique in a player can be admired, but it is the sound and soul of the guitar, and the marriage between it and the player, which truly inspires and enraptures audiences. As such, I only use premium materials for my guitars, never compromising on quality of sound.
I am also in a rare position of being both a player and a maker. I use my decades of experience as a player to influence and inform my instruments, making guitars which are very easy to play and tailored to the individual client's needs.
In 2019 I graduated from the European Institute of Guitar Making under the tutelage of Stephen Hill and his apprentice, Evan Kingma - a life changing experience and one that I strongly think all guitarists should consider. I now work out of a workshop in Oxford, England, as well as with Steve Hill in his workshop in Kidlington. Clients are more than welcome to come and visit the workshops, or to email me with enquiries at manusnoble@gmail.com
