Bunagee Guitar Festival     25th-29th June 2024
                                       


Come to the wilds of Donegal for five days of masterclasses, private lessons, concerts, workshops, practice, ensemble playing, beautiful surroundings, good food and other fun group activities, led by Manus Noble and Gary Ryan.

The course has only 8 spaces for students and is specifically designed so that participants receive a great deal of dedicated attention and 1 on 1 time with the tutors, and form a strong bond with the other students. Here is what students will experience on the course:

- Professionally shot, recorded and edited studio video performance (max 5mins length)
- Two 1hr private lessons
- Two Masterclass performance slots

- Daily Technique, Ensemble and Workshop classes
- Free entry to two evening concerts given by Manus Noble and Gary Ryan
- Opportunity to perform in the end-of-course Student Concert
- All meals/accomodation provided
- Evening activites (pool/ping pong/table football/board games)
- Beautiful beaches and surroundings

Requirements
-18 years or older (if younger, chaperone required, please contact for more information)
- Grade 6 minimum standard

Irish guitarist Manus Noble is one of Europe's leading classical guitarists, known for his strong, unique sound, original compositions and varied recital programmes. Noble graduated from the Royal College of Music with First Class Honours and the Royal Academy of Music with Distinction. He then went on to launch his career to wide critical acclaim.

 

Career highlights include recitals at venues such as the Purcell Rooms, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Sage Gateshead, Bridgewater Hall, Kings Place and Wigmore Hall, as well as giving recitals and masterclasses at Festivals across the UK, Europe and Australia. Noble is also in high demand as a teacher, having taught at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama as well as directing the National Youth Guitar Ensemble.

Gary Ryan is a distinguished master of the classical guitar and world-renowned for his innovative guitar compositions, creating an exciting and popular new repertoire for the 21st century.

His superb and unrivalled all-round musicianship make him a unique concert artist. Much celebrated in the classical, jazz and contemporary musical worlds, his virtuosity and engaging sense of humour are always a delight for audiences who marvel at his performances. These always include his own compositions such as the iconic, ‘Benga Beat’, ‘Lough Caragh’ and ‘Scenes from The Wild West’.

Ryan is the first guitarist since John Williams to be awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Music, London, in recognition of his achievements in the international musical world.
